The University has a host of awards and celebrations — most open to the public — throughout the year. These programs help us connect with each other, learn about and from each other, and examine and reward efforts to promote diversity and inclusion. They include:Every April, the University presents the Princeton Prize in Race Relations to high school students who are involved in an activity helping to improve race relations in their school or community, with prizes awarded in 26 U.S. metro areas. The Office of Human Resources coordinates the annual Service Recognition Luncheon, which honors staff members celebrating service milestones. At the luncheon, recipients of the President's Achievement Award and the Donald Griffin '23 Management Award are also recognized. In the spring, a number of groups hold specialized graduation celebrations, which also include awards for students, staff and faculty. The Lavender Graduation, sponsored by the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center, includes awards for activism, allyship and coalition-building. The Pan-African and Latino Graduations pay tribute to students' cultural heritage. In recent years, the University has held separate conferences for Black, Women and LGBTQ+ alumni, to build community and to examine the University's progress in integrating and serving these groups.
