Princeton University works to ensure that Princeton’s workplace is accessible to all employees who are experiencing pregnancy, childbirth, lactation and/or related conditions, under the terms of Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, the Providing Urgent Maternal Protections for Nursing Mothers Act, and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, which prohibit discrimination on the basis of pregnancy and/or childbirth. The Title IX Coordinator (Michele Minter, [email protected]) ensures reasonable accommodations for employees experiencing pregnancy, childbirth, or lactation. The Office of Human Resources supports employees as they arrange reasonable accommodations for medical conditions related to pregnancy and/or childbirth, in collaboration with their departments, to allow employees to fully participate in the workplace.
